I am interested in network marketing. How many companies should I join? One. I think one of the biggest mistakes new people make is spreading themselves to thin. They seem to think their chances for success will increase by joining many network marketing opportunities. On the surface that would seem to be true. However the people they would like to sponsor into their downline look at it differently, they are looking for stability. They feel someone who is committed to one company for the long run will be much more likely committed to their success.
Every company says they have the BEST commissions, training, pay-plan, etc. Which one should I choose? The first thing you should do is pick a company with a product or service in which YOU have a legitimate need, interest or desire in and try it. If you are happy with the satisfaction it provides you as a consumer, then look no more. You now have an important piece of your home based network marketing business in place . . . a product or service YOU feel good about and a target market. If not, keep looking until you find one. This is foundational because it has to do with your sense of OWNERSHIP and CREDIBILITY towards the people within your target market. What I mean is this - if the product or service is not good enough for you to use, why should it be for your potential customers? I chose the IAHBE because of my interest in a home based internet marketing business and I my like of reading articles. People prefer to buy from people they know, like and trust. Because of this network marketing has always been about forming lasting friendships with people within your target market and then being "open for business" when they are ready to buy. It works the same no matter what medium you choose, face to face, e-mail, blog, skype, etc. In summary, find a product/service with a company you like and stick with it. If you are changing companies every few months because a seemingly better opportunity comes along, you will always be starting over and never build any momentum.
What prompted you to get started? Fear of not having enough income when retirement time comes around got me started. In searching for a product to market I found an online library for home business entrepreneurs, the IAHBE. It came with a money back guarantee so I thought I'd give it a try. For as long as I could remember I had an interest in home business, sales and marketing and reading from it really got me excited. I continue to use it to keep up with the latest tips, product reviews, news and information in the field of marketing and home business, and I promote its membership from my website. Because of my interest in marketing and home business and the enjoyment I get from reading articles, it works great for me.
What is the most important technology you use? The Internet. I have learned to build my own my web pages using the free tutorials at w3schools. With them I can get my message out and refer people to the information I want them to know, all for a very low cost. My domain name and hosting service cost me $9.95 a year.
